In a recent study by carinsurancecomparison.com, Montana tops the list of the states with the worst drivers for 2015. This is mainly due to the number of Fatalities (per 100 million vehicle miles traveled), which it also tops the list.

The criteria used in the study utilizes these main factors:

  • Fatality Rate

  • Failure to Obey (Traffic Signals, Seat Belts, etc.)

  • Drunk Driving

  • Speeding

  • Careless Driving

According to the data, Minnesota has the best drivers.

The drunkest states (according to the data) were North Dakota, Massachusetts and South Carolina. While the states that speed the most were New Hampshire, Wyoming and Pennsylvania.
